The Center for Innovation in Circular Economy (CIEC) fosters resource utilisation through experimentation, sustainability and circularity. 

Besides training, coworking and multipurpose spaces, CIEC MADRID has a digital production FabLab equipped with CNC machinery, including our Fox PRO milling machine.

We continue our experience at this leading educational event, SpainSkills 2024, where the Spanish Vocational Training team is selected to represent us internationally at EuroSkills and WorldSkills. 

Over four days, our new Red Fox 2 CNC milling machine handled 3D engraving for the Joinery project, while the Atheon CO2 Laser cutter and engraver was used in the Carpentry test to engrave the competition's logo.

Additionally, since our first collaboration in SpainSkills 2022, we have participated in regional competitions of Madrid and Castilla y León –MadridSkills and CyLSkills, respectively–.

The versatility of Red Fox 2, ideal for the educational sector

Our innovative desktop CNC milling machine has been tested in workshops by professionals dedicated to CNC manufacturing training. Here, we present two initial impressions on how this machine contributes to skill development in the industry. 

Warren Batt is a carpenter and founder of Madrid's first woodworking coworking, Made de Madera, a space where learning and creativity merge. He highlights the innovative design and speed of the CNC milling machine, both crucial aspects that facilitate hands-on teaching in his workshop.

Diego Cuevas is the CEO of Controlmad, a company dedicated to parametric design and digital manufacturing through CNC, 3D printing and laser cutting. User of the machine's first version, he particularly values the robustness and ease of use of the new Red Fox 2; essential elements for efficient and uncomplicated training.

Training courses offered by NomadTech

'Leather laser cutting and engraving workshop'

With our Atheon CO2 Laser cutters and engravers and OKU Desk, this course at the FabLab Tormes+ in Salamanca was aimed at students, companies and professionals in design, craftsmanship and art. 

Sponsored by the city council, its purpose was to delve into CNC technology, acquire digital skills, incorporate design and innovative materials into business production and improve the diode and CO2 laser cutting and engraving processes.

'Classroom-enterprise project: democratisation of digital manufacturing with affordable CNC machinery'

These training sessions, held in Valladolid during November and December, delved into the use and potential of CNC milling machines and laser cutting and engraving technology for digital manufacturing.

Three practical workshops were a complete immersion in the CNC environment, thanks to the sponsorship of the Castilla y León Regional Government, AVEMA (Valladolid Association of Wood Entrepreneurs) and IES Ribera de Castilla.
