NomadTech: CNC machine manufacturers

We are a young company made up of a multidisciplinary team specialized in developing technology for digital fabrication.

  • Based in Valladolid, since 2016 we have provided digital fabrication tools aimed at both businesses and individuals. We believe in making digital fabrication processes accessible through simple tools and educational content that help people, with or without experience, get the most out of these technologies.

  • At Nomad Technologies we have in-house electronics and mechanical departments and our own manufacturing workshop, which allow us to meticulously develop every component of our products and deliver the highest quality.

  • Our passion for technology has led us to innovate and develop all kinds of CNC machines, from milling machines and plasma cutters to laser engravers. Now also industrial and professional CNC machinery, covering every profile in the sector.

Our story

  • 2026

The company grows and expands. We ship Fox Pro across the country.
Launch of our new website — more attractive and easier to use, with an AI-powered sales assistant.

  • 2025

We develop the laser accessory for the Red Fox 2. We develop and launch the simple IonPlasma Basic CNC plasma cutter with a manual torch.

We launch a simpler CNC milling machine for the hobby user: Fox Lite.

  • 2024

We continue developing and delivering the Red Fox 2 to Kickstarter backers and launch it to market. We create the machine's rotary accessory.

  • 2023

We launch the new Red Fox 2, an updated and improved version of our catalogue's best-seller — our most tested and established benchtop CNC milling machine series. Through Kickstarter, we secured funding in just one minute, with backers in 21 countries.

  • 2022

We started the year with the launch of our most ambitious project: Fox PRO, the full-board CNC milling machine available in two models — single-phase and three-phase.

We also introduced Ion Plasma PRO, the CNC plasma cutter for metals up to 15 mm thick, with a water bed and a 2x1 size, for professionals.

  • 2021

We consolidated international sales by shipping 40 Red Fox units to Peru and launching OKU Desk through Kickstarter, where more than 100 units were sold in 22 countries. It also reached funding in just two hours, hit the €125K goal, and Kickstarter selected it as one of its favorite projects.

We launched the OKU GIVES BACK initiative to continue our mission of bringing digital fabrication to everyone; we refurbish older models of our machines and donate them to social organizations and NGOs in different towns across Spain.

  • 2020

We opened NomadTech's second office (in Madrid) and launched Nomad Academy, with in-person courses at both sites — moved online due to the pandemic.

OKU Desk began beta testing in Spain and, at the end of the year, we expanded our product catalogue with the Atheon CO2 Laser series of cutters and engravers, available in four sizes.

  • 2019

We developed OKU Desk, the diode-laser engraver and cutter. Our first EU co-funded project, and the most complex, ambitious and innovative to date: the first standalone, self-contained machine that works with a touchscreen and without a computer; with our own electronics, design and software; made in Spain — 80% of the design materials and assembly come from Spanish suppliers.

We presented the Ion Plasma metal cutter with a prototype at the MetalMadrid trade fair in autumn.

  • 2018

Mid-year, we launched the Red Fox milling machine series project: it includes our own software (NomadPanel) and our first electronics and mechanics.

  • 2017

The Fox CNC milling machine series appears, a machine assembled with Open Source electronics.

  • 2016

The company began operating in early in the year. The OKU Laser series was born, with the OKU A4 diode-laser engraver and cutter and its later versions: OKU A3 — with more than 500 units sold — and OKU 600 — which features our own plugins and mechanical design.

  • 2015

Two friends, Alfonso and Samuel, meet at the University of Valladolid Microbotics Association (AMUVA), where they work with 3D printers. They design machines in their spare time, tinkering with motors and laser diodes. These are the beginnings of NomadTech.
